Hut Oberkueps

Like almost every section of the DAV, the Lichtenfels section also has its own hut, which is available as a club house for all kinds of events such as celebrations, birthdays or just a cozy get-together. However, it is reserved for members of the section only. They can also use the hut privately, in consultation with the hut warden.

The hut is in Kelbachtal, in the middle of Oberküps next to the village church. It is a small one-storey former farmhouse from the second half of the 18th century. The former stable has been converted and now houses the sanitary facilities. The living room, the kitchen and the storage are housed in the directly adjoining half-timbered house.
The property was inaugurated on September 7th, 1952 and since then has served as a replacement for the Schlappenreuther Hütte, which from 1930 to 1945 served primarily as a base for climbing trips in the vicinity for the young team. Since the inauguration, the hut's birthday has been celebrated every year on the first Sunday in September.
When part of the equipment was destroyed in a fire in January 1993, the hut was completely renovated and could be handed over to its intended purpose again in the same year.Location: Oberküps, house no. 53, 96250 Ebensfeld.
